Krishan was very apologetic, professional and was able to arrange the tour. We enjoyed our experience visiting Lion rock and Polonnaruwara heritage site. This was more of a driving tour rather than a guided tour of the sites. Our driver was very friendly and knew lots of viewing spots along the way that were great for photos. Highlights Our driver had a great eye for wildlife and we spotted wild elephants, peacocks, monkeys, and big lizards on the journey which we really enjoyed. My partner loved learning how to drive a tuk tuk and was able to drive a part of the way in safe non-busy area. Feedback - We were taken to an ayurvedic garden to learn about some of the plants free of charge. He offerend a ride from Dambulla to Kandy on the tuktuk and since his English was good we decided to go. Once the trip started we new this would be fun. Now I know taking a tuktuk long distance is perhaps not the fastest, but it is the most interesting and fun. Where a hoody if you get cold by all the air since it gets windy in the tuktuk. Nach Besichtigung der Sehenswürdigkeiten und Aussichtspunkte um Sirigiya wurden wir von einer Touristenfalle in die nächste gefahren. Meine Frau und ich wurden von Krishans Bruder zu einer überteuerten Massage gebracht (Ayurveda Isiwara Paura) und in einen Space Garden (Habarana Trinco Road Inamaluwa), wo uns maßlos überteuerte Produkte aufgedrängt wurden. Wir hatten diese Tuk Tuk Tour gebucht, da sie super bewertet war. Allerdings wurde man bei dieser Tour von einer in die nächste Touristenfalle gelockt… Tatsächlich fanden wir Krishans Bruder echt nett, er hat uns zu den von uns ausgesuchten Sehenswürdigkeiten gebracht, tolle Aussichtspunkte gezeigt und viele interessante Hintergrundinformationen gegeben. Allerdings wurde uns dann eine Ayurveda Massage angepriesen, die „die beste“ der Region sein soll. Wir waren uns erst unsicher, da wir für unsere letzte Reiseunterkunft in Negombo ein Ayurveda Retreat gebucht haben und dafür eigentlich eine Massage vorgesehen hatten. Leider konnten wir die Preise vorab nicht vergleichen. Krishans Bruder hat uns allerdings versichert, dass die Massagen in Negombo sehr viel teuer sein würden, weshalb wir uns für die Massage im Ayurveda Isiwara Paura entschieden haben. Die Massage war gut, aber maßlos überteuert. Jetzt da wir in Negombo sind, mussten wir feststellen, dass die Massagen hier tatsächlich nur die Hälfte kosten! Anschließend sind wir zu einem Spice Garden (Habarana Trinco Road Inamaluwa) gefahren. Mein Mann interessierte sich sehr dafür, weshalb er sich vorher informiert hat und den Einzigen aussuchte, der sehr gut bewertet war. Er hatte Krishans Bruder extra gefragt, ob er uns zu diesem Garten führen wird, was er bestätigte. Wir haben uns auf sein Wort verlassen, was allerdings eine dreiste Lüge war! Im Nachhinein mussten wir feststellen, dass Krishans Bruder uns zu einem Spice Garden brachte, der sehr schlechte Bewertungen hatte. Wir haben dort ein paar sehr teure Produkte eingekauft, weil wir von Ayurveda begeistert sind. Allerdings hatten wir bereits nach dem Kauf ein schlechtes Gefühl bei der Sache. Als wir die Zweifel mit Krishan und seinem Bruder teilten, versicherten sie uns, dass das nur die besten Produkte seien und alles, was woanders verkauft wird von minderwertiger Qualität ist. Zudem haben sie uns versichert, dass sie Touristen allgemein nie etwas schlechtes empfehlen würden, weil sonst ihr Ruf aufgrund minderwertiger Bewertungen leiden würde. Das hat unser Misstrauen bestärkt und da noch die Möglichkeit bestand die Produkte zurückzugeben, beschäftigten wir uns intensiver mit dem verdächtigen Spice Garden. Wir entschlossen uns aufgrund zahlreicher schlechter Bewertungen unseren Kauf rückgängig zu machen. Zudem sind wir am nächsten Morgen in eine offizielle Apotheke gegangen, in der wir vergleichbare Produkte zu nicht einmal 1/10 des Preises bekommen haben. Unser gesamtes Geld wieder zurückzubekommen war nicht einfach, aber immerhin ist es uns gelungen zumindest diese verlorenen Ausgaben wieder zurückzuholen. Hier wird nichts für die Touristen getan, sondern lediglich darauf geschaut, den eigenen Geldbeutel zu stopfen. Schließlich verdient der Tuk Tuk Fahrer ordentlich Provision, wenn die dummen Touristen zu diesen Fallen gelockt werden…. Normal prives, he knows the region like the back of his hand, maintains relationships with many nice people/entrepreneurs, does not show pushy behavior, calm and clear in communication and has a very good command of the English language. He made our two days in Dambulla a wonderful stopover. Highly recommended! If you are staying in Dambulla, call Krishan and let him put together a tour/ plan that fits your specific wishes. Wir hatten eine Nacht im New Sandra's Guesthouse gebucht und sprachen am Abend mit Krishan unsere Pläne durch. Aufgrund seiner Vorschläge machten wir am nächsten Tag (6.00-15 Uhr) einen Ausflug (Kosten für 2 Personen - 120 Dollar) in den Hurulu eco park (inkl. Eintritt + Jeep + Fahrer). Danach gings weiter mit dem Tuktuk nach Sigyria auf den Pidurangala und zu einigen anderen versteckten Stopps. Die Tour endete mit einem Besuch im Höhlentempel. Krishan spricht sehr gut Englisch, erklärt viel und hilft bei allen Fragen rund um den Urlaub.
